Open the terminal window. Either search (command+spacebar), or find the function in utilities in the launchpad.

Copy and paste the following command to know your current mouse tracking speed- defaults read -g com.apple.mouse.scaling

Change the speed as per your need. The default speed is 5.0, and it is pretty good. The maximum speed that the system preference can provide you is 3.0.
